| This is the world's oldest pyramid. Long before pyramids of Giza, the Egyptians started building pyramids at Saqqara, few miles off Giza. The pyramid in the background (Stepped Pyramid at Djoser), is not only the oldest pyramid in the world, but is also the oldest complete stone building complex known in human history (3000 BC). The 6 steps in the pyramid resembled the 'staircases' to heaven. |
